North Carolina Chapter

International Association of Arson Investigators

From the Joint Conference Committee on attendance cancellations related to impacts and ongoing recovery from Helene.

Members and Attendees,
Recovery efforts remain extremely dynamic in the Hurricane Helene affected areas of North Carolina and South Carolina. It is not shocking that many of our colleagues are on the front line of those efforts. We are humbled and honored to be associated with so many committed to helping their fellow citizens. With situations being in such flux, some of you that had previously registered for the NC/SC IAAI Joint Conference will now be unable to attend. If you need to cancel, whether it’s because of hurricane impact or deployment obligations, we understand.

Those needing to cancel should send a request to membership@nciaai.com so that we can begin the process of starting your refund. Please be patient because many of our Joint Conference Committee Members are also impacted with hurricane issues and juggling home challenges with work obligations. We promise your refund will come. If you are unable to attend the conference but have reserved a room, please cancel as soon as possible. The hotel will not charge a cancellation fee if you cancel 7 days before your
arrival date. That leaves many of you with less than one week to cancel.

We are working with the hotel to shorten that time frame, but nothing is guaranteed at the moment. If you believe you will not be attending, we strongly encourage you to go ahead and cancel your reservation.

Executive Officer and Board of Director elections are continuing. If you have not voted, please take a moment to cast your ballots. The process is quick and we want our membership to be engaged in selecting those that will steer the Chapter in the future.
Again, thank you to everyone that is involved or supporting our state at this time. The Chapter remains committed to helping any member that needs us.

Stay safe!
